A word from our CEO:

I would like to introduce you to the Independent Monitoring Authority (IMA) and let you know about the exciting opportunities which are available for you to join us.
Based in Swansea, the IMA is a new independent body responsible for ensuring that EU and EEA EFTA state citizens are able to fully enjoy the rights that have been guaranteed to them as part of the UK’s exit from the European Union.

The IMA was established by the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020 and will be responsible for monitoring the adequate and effective implementation and application of citizens’ rights, taking action in instances where there have been general or systematic failings in the implementation of the citizens’ rights agreements.

The IMA will have the power to receive complaints directly from qualifying citizens, to launch inquiries, make recommendations and bring legal action, in the form of judicial review, against any pubic authority that has failed to implement or apply the citizens’ rights agreements correctly.

What functions or teams will the IMA comprise of?

The IMA will be made up of several specialist teams, allowing you to find a function which best suits your skills, experience and ambitions, these include:

  • Legal Services
  • Operational Delivery, including the Inquiry Team, Assessment Team and Analysis Team
  • Governance
  • Corporate Services

What roles will be available?

We are looking to recruit to a wide variety of posts from specialist corporate functions to front line staff dealing directly with the public.  We are really keen to hear from people with management experience to support our staff as well as individuals with great customer service skills.
